Sailing 101

So we had our first lesson on sailing, courtesy of Blob Rock. We were jibbing and coming about and tightening the mainsail and luffing and...well, those are the phrases that I remember. I have been sailing since I was little but I have never paid any attention to how do do it. But Kurt and I decided that we probably needed to take advantage of having a sail boat in the family. Basically we are professionals now.

Happy Anniversary to us!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Yesterday marked our one year anniversary. Can you believe it?! This past year has gone by so fast - and it has honestly been the best. I never imagined that I could ever meet someone that I love this much or have this much fun with. I have to say that I have the most wonderful husband in the world. Kurt is truly the funniest, wittiest, most lovable and loving person that I have ever met. He makes everything in my life better, and I consider myself the luckiest girl in the world. I couldn't ask for a more genuine, caring, and loving husband.

Look at him....isn't he just the cutest?

One down, lots more to go.

Another Fun-Filled Weekend

Friday we met some friends for Pizza and a movie. We saw 21, which was good but not great. Saturday we wrapped up our indoor soccer season with a win, Go Gladiators! Then we headed down to Lehi to catch the STIHL Timbersports Pro Series. After the competition we took Trax into town to see the REAL game.
Here are some pics!

Timbersports Games

Okay, these guys are kind of amazing. You should check out the games later this month. You might even see us super-fans in the crowd cheering them on.
By the way, see that little frizbee? Out of about a billion things they threw into the stands, that was the only thing I caught (okay Kurt caught it). Some stupid tall guy in front of me caught all of the useless merchandise that was supposed to be mine.

REAL Salt Lake

The only thing that would have made the game better is a W.

Cabin

Date: May 31-June 1, 2008
Last weekend, after winning our soccer game, we drove up to the cabin with my parents. We had a great time filled with: cards, food, kites, horseshoes, yahtzee, tractors, and sleep.

My hubby and my doggy.

My Dad trying to fly a kite. He was really dead set on making it fly, but it didn't work out quite as well as he had hoped.

My Mummy and me - & - Dad's new favorite toy. Yeah, he bought himself a tractor. Yee-Haaa!

California

Date: May 22-26, 2008
We went to California last weekend to visit our good friends Ryan and Courtney. They live in Santa Monica, a few blocks from the beach. The weather was not hot enough to swim, but we had such a blast! I think all of us were pretty sad to go back to work after such a fun-filled long weekend.
While we were there we: went to DisneyLand, saw Indiana Jones, did some shopping, went to a Dodger game, played Guitar Hero, watched The Sopranos, played cards, ate way too much food, and had way too much fun. Here are some pics:

Disney Land:

Disney Land was so fun, and we definately got our moneys worth (we got there before it opened and left long after dark). Our favorite rides were Space Mountain and Buzz LightYear (thanks to the sweet lasers).

Think Blue:

Besides losing, the Dodger game was awesome. Courtney's little brother Trevor is an intern with the Dodgers and hooked us up with some sweet VIP seats (all you can eat!). We were in the perfect spot to grab the foul balls, and left with three of them.

Thanks guys, for a great weekend!

SO LONG, FAREWELL.....

Lynsie and Joey are moving to Elko this weekend, and we are so sad! I don't know what we will do without them. We will miss: dinner parties, churros, indoor soccer games, youtube, The Office, Real soccer games, tennis, Flight of the Conchords, DDR, game nights, etc.

We tried to fill this week with as much Mortensen as possible.

Luckily it is only a three hour drive.

Visitors

I am sorry I am such a blog-slacker. I never posted it but a few weeks ago our good friends Jamie and Shane came in from Oregon to visit us on their way to Vegas. It was really fun to have them in town; however, some of our plans were thwarted by bad weather and food poisoning. Once Jamie rebounded from that horrible experience we had a great time hiking, BBQing, watching movies, playing games, etc. I felt a little bit slighted by the day we lost, but we will just have to make it up when we go out to visit them in Portland this summer!
