The Lion King

Kurt surprised me with Lion King tickets for our anniversary this year. I had literally been dying to see it since it came out in '97... and it did not disappoint. It was one of the most visually stunning things I have ever seen.

Like most kids that were in grade school in the 90's, I have seen the movie probably 45 times and know the story front to back, but I was so curious to see how they would pull it all off on stage. Wow. The whole thing was gorgeous!

Highly recommended.

Gerry

Just in case anyone was wondering, Gerry is still adorable.

Here he is after rubbing his face in some of the fallen apricots in the backyard.

Spudman & I Think I CANyons

Last weekend was a very active one for us. I'll start with me.

SPUDMAN:
I drove up to Burley, Idaho with some friends on Firday night for the Spudman triathlon. We camped on the golf course that night and were ready to go first thing on Saturday. This is the first time I had done a triathlon in over 6 years, and I had a blast. Well, if you would have asked me how I was enjoying it while I was running I would have barfed, but now that it is over I can't wait for next years.

I THINK I CANYONS:
My brother organized this year's annual I Think I CANyons charity ride and Kurt was one of the riders. The full ride goes up four of the valleys canyons, for a total of 110 miles. Kurt did the half - up Emigration and Millcreek. I am sooo impressed with him. 55 miles is a lot to ride on a flat road, let alone straight up canyons.
Maybe Saturday helped him realize how much he needs me, too. He forgot to put sunscreen on and he didn't eat breakfast.
I wish I had pictures of Kurt's ride, but I had the camera.
